Rho Psi Lambda Chapter History

​​During the Spring of 2009, a group of brothers, met in lower Manhattan to discuss the possibility of chartering a chapter of Alpha phi Alpha fraternity incorporated in the Bronx. On Thursday, May 21, 2009, Brother Charles Richardson and Brother Keith Howard of the group met with Brother Keith Price, District Director of Alpha Eastern Region, at the Royal Coach Diner, to begin the arduous work of presenting data to support the facts that Alpha is needed in the Bronx and the community will embrace the House of Alpha. The group of Brothers petitioned the Eastern Regional Vice President during the 78th Eastern Regional Convention in Boston, Massachusetts. Brother Barry Ward, Brother Keith Howard, and Brother Charles Richardson traveled to Las Vegas, Nevada on Saturday, July 24. 2010. At the 104th general convention the brothers were present while the fraternal body confirmed the chartering of an Alpha chapter in Bronx, New York.
